Our Foundation's Story

The Ike Maphoto Legacy Foundation was established to honour and continue the life's work of General Isaac Lesiba "Bra Ike" Maphoto — a distinguished liberation struggle veteran, recipient of the Order of Luthuli in Gold, and lifelong champion of education and social justice.

Preserving a Living Legacy

General Maphoto dedicated his life to freedom and community upliftment. Even in his later years, he used his own pension to fund rural students' university education. This Foundation continues that spirit of selfless service.
